About Sooki

This is Sooki, who represents our mom. Her homemade meals knit our family together and sparked inspiration for this whole operation.

For as long as we can remember, our family returned from Korea with bottles of fresh sesame oil tucked into suitcases; picked up from the local market before flying home. It was a ritual, a way of holding onto a flavor we couldn’t find here. As we got older and began cooking more ourselves, it started to feel strange that something so essential, so everyday in Korea, wasn’t readily available in the U.S.

That realization led to years of work.

We tested different seed varieties, adjusted roasting temperatures, and refined every step, from cleaning and pressing to filtration. We failed often, especially when trying to scale production without losing the warmth and depth of that first bottle. But through it, we learned how to preserve what mattered most.

We're beginning our journey with sesame oil, but it doesn’t end there. Our goal is to bring the excellence of Korean pantry staples to everyday kitchens everywhere.

About Sooki Boy

We created Sooki Boy to blend traditional and modern Korean elements in a playful way, embodying what we want our company to represent: respect for heritage, openness to the present, and a sense of fun along the way. His rechargeable sesame oil arms nod to modern life, while his grandmother represents our roots, featuring sesame oil arms inspired by the traditional bottle. Together, they reflect where we come from and where we’re going.
